Technology development and innovation have imposed a great impact on law and institutions. As an example, consider artificial intelligence (AI). The inherent nature of law symbolizes authority and firmness, while innovation requires more liberty and flexibility. It has to be recognized that innovation overwrites history, as well as reforms the law, from time to time. What needs to be done now is to re-examine the relationship between law, business, and institutions from both the industrial and legal perspectives.
Established by a group of scholars and practitioners who perceive the impacts of technology on law and institutions, the Global Forum of Law and Innovation (GFOLI) is aimed to address this trend. Our philosophy is to be proactive in conducting research and analysis, and not to remain passive in designing a “reactive” solution. GFOLI aims to convene a frontline forum of scholars, enterprises, and policymakers with more direct and efficient information flow in the field of law and technological innovation.
